    I would like to bring the following to your attention.

    This is AGAIN on my Facebook page, this time with a different heading.

    I WILL NOT be refunded by the bank for the fraudulent transactions on my bank account as they cannot trace where the transactions originated from.

    I am being blamed for making all the purchases on my bank accounts so am now out of pocket over the Christmas period … Please could someone try to stop this, so many people are being scammed and are probably in the same situation as I am in. Especially over this Christmas season.

    CAN I ONCE AGAIN REQUEST THAT I CAN POST ON FACEBOOK ABOUT THIS SCAM TO WARN OTHERS.

    Dear Dana Eitzen

    I have sent the enclosed email to Canon USA and Uk , I am just bringing this to your attention as I am a South African Citizen and live in Durban, and this is happening here in South African.

    MY STORY FOR CLARIFICATION

    About a month Ago, my Canon Camera was stolen from my Sons car, as it was in his vehicle, the insurance would not pay out the value of the Camera (R99,000.00 – South African Rand) as it was not in my possession.

    Not being able to function without a camera – as I live my life behind my Camera, I started looking for deals for Black Friday to try to replace the Camera that was stolen (not being a very financially wealthy person, a deal that is less is the best 😊)

    It was so unreal when I got the message on Facebook for the deal of the “century” on Canon cameras, being so lost without a camera, and trusting Canon (as I have done all my life), I placed an order on a camera (Canon EOS 6D Mark II + EF 24-105mm F/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens) . Got confirmation that the order was placed, the money had been paid successfully, and that the camera would be delivered within 14 working days. My heart content I carried on with life.

    To my dismay, 3 days later I started receiving messages on my mobile of money being authorised from my bank accounts … yes ALL my bank accounts. Upon which I called the bank immediately and stopped all banking accounts – they froze all my accounts so that they could not be accessed, and they will stay frozen until the investigation is complete … they cannot tell me for how long.

    The bank opened a Fraud case and are to this day still investigating the matter, which at the moment is not looking promising. They accessed all my banking accounts and emptied my accounts out all in a matter of minutes. The Bank does not refund monies of Cybre Crime ☹ my life savings gone, my retirement money gone, I am now penniless over the Christmas period and so Devastated that my heart is broken, I can’t sleep, and am too scared to open another account or even go onto the internet.

    I have never purchased off of the internet, and this being the first time, and a person in desperate need to replace what was taken, I will never do this again !! it is a lesson well learnt and I wish that I could tell the world what just happened. I don’t think that you can explain to any one person what this makes you feel like.

    The feeling of dismay is so unbelievable and I don’t wish this on my worst enemy. I feel sick. How can people do this ?? it is like a bad dream and I just want to wake up.

    I do feel that the person/people who are doing this are trying to (and obviously doing) is getting information not just to get Credit Card details, but to gain access to all your personal account to clean them out.

    I am bringing this to your attention so that you know the devastation this has caused me (words cannot explain), and would hate this to happen to anyone else. Especially over the festive season.

  2. How to contact the corporate office out of office hours? I have an issue that needs to be dealt with and It cannot wait until Monday.

  3. They should hire some more employees for their customer support team. Good company overall, I just found it hard to get through on their customer help phone number.
